Help for Heroes... how Warsaw supports its soldiers

Anna Jakubowska, codename Paulinka, is a decorated war hero who fought in the Warsaw Uprising to retake Poland's capital. After the war she was imprisoned by the communists and later went on to be an active member of Solidarity.

So she, like every member of the Warsaw Uprising, deserves Poland's respect and protection. Not just on holidays and commemorations, but every day. Which is why the City of Warsaw has a special place for former Warsaw Uprising and Resistance members.
