A Polish mountain climber died on Saturday after falling off Zabi Kon peak in the Slovak part of the Tatra mountains, Slovak rescue services reported on Saturday evening.
The wheelchair, with one wheel, a bucket-like seat and four grip-holds to help move it up the mountain, came to the attention of officials at the Tatra Mountains National Park after an employee launched a crowdfunding campaign to buy one for her disabled sister.
Located in the Western Tatras and one of the longest in the world when it opened, the cable car line runs from Kuźnice, part of the town of Zakopane, to the Kasprowy Wierch peak, up to an altitude of 1,959 metres.
