Polish contenders on Sunday won three medals, one silver and two bronze, at the 2020 European Rowing Championships held on October 9-11 in Poznan, western Poland.
“We rowed phenomenally, we left our rivals behind and we knew that we wouldn’t give up that lead,” said the delighted gold medal winners after beating Australia and New Zealand at the event in Poznań which saw over 850 competitors from 45 countries taking part.
The Boat Race is one of the oldest sporting events in the world, attracting up to 250,000 members of the public as well as Oxbridge students and alumni to the banks of Thames, with tens of millions of others watching it on TV.
