Police have smashed a major drug ring that smuggled marijuana from Spain to Poland through the Netherlands and Germany.
Polish and Czech police officers have broken up an international gang smuggling drugs within the EU, the Central Police Investigation Bureau (CBSP) reported on Tuesday.
A special task force set up to investigate the gang said they may have smuggled as much as 1.2 tonnes of marijuana worth almost PLN 24 million (EUR 5.3 million) from Spain into Poland as well as Italy, Belgium, Germany and the UK.
Thought to have been operating since May 2016, the gang dealt in smuggling narcotics across the border and distributing them onto the streets of Warsaw.
