Sixty percent of the five million tonnes of wasted food in Poland annually is directly attributable to consumers, the country’s agriculture minister indicated on Tuesday.
Around nine million tonnes of food are wasted in Poland every year while, at the same time, there are some 1.6 million people living in extreme poverty, the Federation of Polish Food Banks has reported.
