Poland asks EC for help in evacuating Poles from Wuhan

Poland has asked the European Commission for help in organising the evacuation of Polish citizens from the coronavirus-affected central Chinese city of Wuhan under the EU's Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM), the Foreign Ministry told PAP on Thursday.

Audit office to probe Poland's epidemiological response

Poland's Supreme Audit Office (NIK), an inspection body for government entities, will verify the country's readiness to respond to epidemiological threats as China's deadly coronavirus spreads across the world.

Gov't debates coronavirus countermeasures

The current situation regarding the coronavirus and cooperation between specialised services and institutions in preventing its spreading to Poland were the subjects of Tuesday talks in the Government Security Centre.

Posting on Twitter, the Ministry of Infrastructure said: “The first signs are already leading to Królewiec. We have just started replacing the boards so that they have Polish name Królewiec, not Kaliningrad.
