To celebrate National Pierogi Day, TFN takes a look at food writer Zuza Zak’s deep dive into regional pierogi recipes from across Poland with traditional ingredients and stories that define the Polish speciality.
Entitled Honey Cakes and Latkes: Recipes from the Old World, the cookbook is not about what prisoners were forced to eat in the camp but rather an affirmation of life, before and after the camp, told through the unifying medium of food recipes.
Entitled ‘Let’s Meet at the Kitchen Table’, the vibrantly illustrated English and Polish cookbook is a collection of 16 recipes contributed by 11 migrants of various nationalities, permanently living in the city of Wrocław.
