Polish Foreign Ministry has condemned two bomb attacks at Jerusalem bus stops that killed one and injured many others on Wednesday.
The brainchild of artist Barbara Gortat from Fundacja Tu Brzoza, the ‘Folk Stops’ project transforms village bus stops into colourful galleries of art with reproductions of famous paintings from the Young Poland art movement.
Locals decided to cheer up their bus stop in the picturesque village of Skajboty, north Poland, by giving it a facelift.
Along with being good for birds the revolutionary bus reduces dust and absorbs CO2.
The shelter has green ivy walls, a heated bench, economical lighting, hybrid power supply, and chargers for mobile devices.
The heat-beating bus stops in Białystok will be surrounded by decorative grasses and perennial shrubs which city authorities say will “mitigate the effects of climate change by lowering the temperature and reducing the phenomenon of so-called urban heat island, microclimate improvement, rainwater retention”.
Villagers set about transforming the little concrete bus stop by adding a table, chairs, artwork and a traditional cuckoo clock. At Easter they cover it in festive decorations and at Christmas they add a Christmas tree.
