Poles are evenly split over whether life was better under the current Law and Justice dominated government or its predecessor controlled by the Civic Platform party, according to a new opinion poll.
A Thursday ruling by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) on foreign-currency-denominated mortgages, which favoured consumers, came as no surprise and the Polish banking sector was prepared for it, a deputy finance minister has said.
Poland’s governing party Law and Justice (PiS) would place first, if elections were held in the coming days, a recent poll by United Surveys shows.
The report by Google and Dealroom found that Poland had the largest number of companies classified as unicorns, a term meaning that a start-up has risen in value to over $1 billion, with 10 companies. Estonia had six, with Czechia and Ukraine both having four and the rest of the region having a total of 10 unicorns.
