Lempicka exhibition draws in record crowds as villa announces plans to keep a third on permanent show

The collection gathered by businessman Marek Roefler has now grown so large that it recently expanded into a stunningly refurbished neighbouring villa, making the complex one of the most astonishing cultural sites in the country. Kalbar/TFN

Planned to last just three months, with 80,000 visitors descending on an exhibition of Tamara de Lempicka’s works, to meet popular demand the Villa La Fleur just outside Warsaw was forced to keep its doors open for an extra three months.

First ever Lempicka painting to be auctioned in Poland estimated to fetch 4-6 mln PLN

The oil on canvas measuring 79.5 cm by 56.2 cm and signed T. de Lempicka shows a scene from Lempicka’s New York apartment of a mystery woman in a white bonnet holding a book with its pages open.

Łempicka painting goes for eye-watering $13million at Sotheby’s auction

The painting ‘La Tunique rose’ went under the hammer at Sotheby’s in New York alongside masterpieces by Picasso, Monet and Calliebotte as part of their ‘Impressionist & Modern Art’ event.
