Symbolising purity, courage and valour, Poland’s national colours of white and red are steeped in history and legend.
The Polish Embassy in Italy announced on Friday that the Leaning Tower of Pisa will be illuminated with the white and red of the Polish flag in celebration of Poland's Independence centenary.
Celebrated on May 2nd, the Polish National Flag Day honours the white and red of the Polish coat of arms and flag. Displaying or wearing the national colours is an expression of pride, patriotism, commitment and national unity, regardless of political views or affiliations. It also the Day of Polonia and Poles Abroad, recognizing the accomplishments of estimated 20 million Poles or people of Polish origins living outside of the country.
