Polish President Andrzej Duda and US Vice-President Mike Pence are to visit the former Nazi-German death camp of Auschwitz in southern Poland on Friday, a symbol of Jews' extermination and the martyrdom of Poles and other nations.
The Polish Embassy told reporter Andrea Mitchell: “The 1943 Warsaw Ghetto Uprising was a heroic act against the German Nazis who established the ghetto & carried out the #Holocaust.”
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki along with US Vice-President Mike Pence and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu will lay flowers at the Ghetto Heroes Monument in Warsaw on Thursday. Morawiecki and Pence will also lay wreaths at the Warsaw Uprising Monument.
An agreement on the purchase of US HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) self-propelled rocket artillery was signed in Warsaw on Wednesday. The price for 20 launchers with ammunition is USD 414 million.
