The battle between Swedish and Polish forces was fought in 1628, as part of the Polish-Swedish War (1626-29). Polish ships were attacked with artillery fire from the Swedish fleet. The Polish vessel Golden Lion and galleon Knight Saint George sunk. Jan Dzban/PAP

The Wisłujście Fortress located by the Martwa Wisła river, an estuary of Vistula, was the stage of battle between Polish and Swedish forces in 1628.

Once asked to draw the view from her bedroom window for homework, Anna Odi couldn’t decide whether to draw the crematorium or the gallows where Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Hoess was executed.
