An enormous herd of bison, described by scientists as the largest they have ever seen, has been spotted in the Białowieża forest in eastern Poland.
In 1939 it is thought that only 37 bison remained in the whole of Poland. Thanks to long-term conservation efforts, this number has grown closer to 1,900.
