Despite the disappointing results, the boys found time for Fat Thursday donuts and remain optimistic with Kubica posting on Facebook: “We had a good day from a gathering data point of view. We have to keep working and keep improving to put maximum effort in, and I hope we have a smooth start to the season now.”

His return to competitive racing comes as a remarkable comeback for Kubica whose career as a racing driver almost came to an end in 2011 when his rally car smashed into a wall during Ronde di Andora in Italy.
