A Polish convoy carrying humanitarian aid for migrants has reached Lithuania following a request for assistance made by Vilnius through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
Various equipment, including tents, beds and power generators, will leave Poland for Lithuania next Wednesday in order to help with the rising problem of irregular migrants arriving from neighbouring Belarus.
The Polish government has expressed its readiness to help countries struggling with large fires, spokesperson for the government Joanna Kopcińska told PAP on Wednesday.
