Four Moscow-posted Polish diplomats have until April 7 to leave the country after being recognised as persona non grata, the Polish Foreign Ministry informed on Friday.
The French ambassador to Poland, Pierre Levy, awarded the Order of Arts and Letters to actor Wojciech Pszoniak, former Minister of Culture and National Heritage Malgorzata Omilanowska and art historian Piotr Skubiszewski in Warsaw, on Tuesday.
"The vandalism that took place at the Polish embassy is unacceptable and has no place in a democracy that honors the rule of law. A police investigation into the matter has been opened," Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely wrote on Twitter on Monday.
