Two Polish cellists win music competition in US – Culture Ministry

Krzysztof Michalski and Michal Balas, two cellists from the Wladyslaw Zelenski State Secondary School of Music in Krakow, southern Poland, won the Johansen International Competition for Young String Players, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage said on Monday.

German violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter awarded Gloria Artis gold medal

German violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter received the Gold Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis from Poland's Deputy PM and Culture Minister Piotr Glinski. The ceremony was held at the Polish Culture Ministry's seat in Warsaw on Sunday.

Krystian Zimerman, a world-renowned Polish virtuoso pianist, and the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Jacek Kaspszyk will perform the opening concert of the 22nd Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival at the Warsaw Philharmonic Concert Hall on Friday.
