Poland's Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has announced that it will appeal a Polish court ruling annulling the fines imposed on Russian natural gas giant Gazprom and five companies responsible for the Russian-German Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project.
The Polish prime minister has described leaks in the Nord Stream gas pipelines, which lie beneath the Baltic, as “disturbing”, adding that they may well have been caused “by an act of sabotage”.
The row between Poland and Denmark was not about ownership of the maritime territory, rather it was about delineating the exclusive economic zone.
