The birth of baby Bartek comes as a huge relief to the village which was catapulted into the glare of global media attention last year with advice flooding in on how to conceive a boy. Proud mum Anna said that the birth was a double miracle as last year she had to raise money for a serious operation without which it would have been impossible to have a successful pregnancy.
With a population of just under 300, mystery surrounds why in the last nine years locals in the village of Miejsce Odrzańskie have only given birth to girls.
The proud mum beat odds of 1 in 4.7 billion after the four girls and two boys popped out at the hospital in Kraków.
The increase could be a result of the government introducing payments of 500 PLN for every second and additional child born.
