Israel's Holocaust remembrance institute Yad Vashem has been analysing additional documents related to two Polish war-time diplomats in Switzerland that helped save Jews, Israeli president Reuven Rivlin told a Polish honorary consul in Zurich.

The Israel Hayom daily in its English edition on Friday wrote that during the Second World War the Polish government-in-exile supported actions taken by Ambassador Aleksander Ładoś to save Jews and allowed Jewish organisations to use the diplomatic postal service.

Swiss museum opens exhibition on Polish diplomat heroes

The Jewish Museum of Switzerland in Basel opened an exhibition on Friday documenting the work of Polish diplomats in saving Jews during World War II. The group, under Ambassador Alexander Ładoś, rescued between 8,000-10,000 Jews from the Holocaust.

Tale of thwarted love which inspired Mickiewicz’s greatest works to be turned into epic new film

Titled Uncertainty, the ambitious mega-production promises an intimate portrayal of the young Mickiewicz during a turbulent love affair, which would sow seeds of inspiration, ultimately germinating in works that would go on to become the cornerstone of Poland's literary heritage.
