Poland's flagship bank PKO BP posted PLN 757 mln (EUR 176 mln) in net profit in the first quarter of 2018, above the consensus expectations at PLN 704.8 mln (PLN 163.7 mln) and up from PLN 525 mln (EUR 122 mln) in the first three months of 2017.
The economic research team of Poland's biggest bank PKO BP has topped the ranking of economic forecasters for 2017 as prepared by the UK-based survey organisation Consensus Economics, the bank said in a statement.
Poland is among the countries that can be called leaders in digital banking, according to research conducted by consulting firm Deloitte and presented at a Tuesday press conference.
The percentage of Polish people actively using online banking services has been rising steadily, the Polish Bank Association (ZBP) has said in a report.
