Payments by BLIK, a mobile system which allows users to shop without using a card, surged in some sectors by over 200 percent, and the upward trend will likely continue, reported the Polish Payment Standard (PSP) in a press statement on Friday.
Launched just five years ago, BLIK now has around eight transactions every second which is set to increase dramatically following its partnership with Dutch payment provider Adyen.
Polish Payment Standard (PSP), the operator of the Blik mobile payment system, has formed a partnership with MasterCard, following an announcement first made in December 2018, the companies announced in a Tuesday press release.
The mobile payment system is set for sunnier climes after signing a deal to make a bespoke system for its new middle-eastern clients.
The companies announced, that they will cooperate on BLIK’s expansion to new markets outside of Poland as well.
