Breaking from tradition, the parade was switched from Warsaw to Katowice so as to honour the centenary of the Silesian Uprising.

Poland’s August 15th celebrations for Armed Forces Day mark the country’s 1920 victory against advancing Russian Bolsheviks in the Battle of Warsaw. Over 100 airplanes and helicopters, more than 200 military vehicles and over 1,500 troops took part in the annual celebrations.
