The small town of Łowicz will erupt into colour today as locals take to the streets to celebrate Corpus Christi (Boże Ciało).
Starting in October 2021 from the coastal city of Gdynia, sailing instructor and pet shop owner Marcin Klimczak intends to complete his epic round journey in 280-300 days, or the equivalent of 10 months, in his 9-metre-long boat made of wood.
Claiming to be the smallest museum in Europe, it includes buttons from Poland’s wartime commander-in-chief Władysław Sikorski, Communist leader Wojciech Jaruzelski, recently murdered mayor of Gdansk Paweł Adamowicz and even Pope John Paul II, all of which offer an exhilarating whistle-stop tour of Poland’s recent history and contemporary national life.
