Museums throw open their doors to Warsaw’s night-time crowd

Warsaw held its annual Night of the Museums on May 18, which gave people the chance to explore the best of the city’s museums and some of its hidden attractions for free.

The night has become a hugely popular event in the capital with queues sometimes forming outside the more popular haunts. Many of the city museums along with institutions that are most of the time off-limits to the public, such as the water works, now take part, giving city dwellers the chance to delve into the nation’s culture and explore the inner workings of Warsaw without having to dive deep into their pockets.
