As Poland pushes to reduce its dependence on Russian gas, plans for Baltic Pipe are moving forward. The project will create a new gas supply corridor on the European market, enabling Norwegian gas to be sent directly to Denmark and Poland. The exact route will be chosen in June, the Polish government’s plenipotentiary for strategic energy infrastructure Piotr Naimski announced. Once the decision is made, the first pipe could be laid in 2020, he indicated.
