Yummy! Talented Teresa stuns internet in international comp with her incredible cake designs

A talented baker has gained international recognition after taking second place in an online cake design contest.

Teresa Sarat from Dąbrowa Tarnowska clocked up a whopping 1.8k likes from cake fans for her ultra-realistic Sweet Orchid creation in the World's Super Incredible Cake Artist competition.

The delighted 41-year-old mother-of-two who now lives in Illinois in the United States said: “Making this cake was my big dream. It was a gift for my sister-in-law who loved orchids and I wanted to give her double pleasure.

“The result of the competition is great satisfaction for me, the more that so many people supported me with their votes.”

A major labour of love, the orchid’s petals took three days to make, while the stems and main body of the cake in the shape of a pot with chocolate for mud took around seven hours.

The self-taught baker said: I do not have a gastronomic education, so when I started making cakes, I had to learn everything myself.

“First, I look at the picture, catch the details, then I make a sketch, and only then I start to act so as not to waste any products or time.

"I always bake a cake that I would like to get myself."

To make her cakes so life-like, Teresa can spend up to 10 hours on just one.Teresa Sarat

Teresa says she treat every cake as her ‘baby’, adding: “That is why I love giving them a photo shoot afterwards.”Teresa Sarat

“The most popular flavours are raspberry and blueberry, walnut and chocolate. I never cut corners when I bake.

“I use good quality ingredients and treat every cake as my ‘baby’, meaning that it should be the best possible inside and out.

The orchid cake is just one of Sarat’s stunning creations. The PA to a film producer also has created cars, TV characters, designer handbags and baskets of produce.
