‘We’re proud of you guys!’ Engineering boss praises his team after beating world record for longest bridge in the WORLD

A viaduct built by Polish engineers has made it into the Guinness Book of Records.
Made from corrugated sheet, it boasts the world’s biggest buried metal bridge span.
With a range of 32.39 m and height of 9.56 m, the viaduct passes over a motorway intersection near Ras Al Khaimah, the northernmost emirate. It was officially opened by the UAE’s Minister of Infrastructure Development Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi on 6 March.
Built by ViaCon, which specialises in innovative infrastructure, the company’s Polish branch is part of Europe’s top producer of steel pipes ViaCon group.
ViaCon CEO Leszek Janusz, pictured, posted the news on Facebook and congratulated his team saying: “We are very proud of you guys and would like to congratulate on an outstanding performance!”
Posting on Facebook, the delighted team said: “This is our pleasure and privilege to share with you the news from Dubai.
“Yesterday, the Minister of Infrastructure Development of United Arab Emirates, Dr. Abdullah Belhaif AlNuaimi, opened the bridge made of corrugated steel plates produced by ViaCon in Rydzyna, Poland.
“The bridge earned a place in the Guinness World Records Book as the largest buried bridge in the world.”
Praising his team, CEO Leszek Janusz added: “We are very proud of you guys and would like to congratulate on an outstanding performance!”

For the project, it used UltraCor, latest-generation constructions made of corrugated sheets. Light but durable, they allow wildlife crossings – allowing animals to pass man-made obstacles safely – to be built below major roads or railway lines.
The construction process includes laying the foundation, assembling the structure, carry out engineering work and then add the finishing touches.

According to the company, using corrugated sheet saves time and money. The material has long been used in housing and commercial building projects, including for roofs.
From its base in Poland, the company has been keen to develop on Arab markets. Its website is already available in Arabic, in addition to Polish and English. As it stands, around 40% of the company’s products are sold abroad.
Ultimately, the plan is for the viaduct to be used with a future railway line that will be used to transport good from an eastern African mine to ports, according to ViaCon Polska’s CEO Michał Mońka.
