We must care for senior citizens - PM
We must extend care over our senior citizens, who built the foundations of our future, PM Mateusz Morawiecki said at a Saturday meeting with senior citizens in Brennik by Legnica in southwestern Poland.
Morawiecki said that the level of elderly care showed how functional a state was, and announced government steps to improve the situation of the aged. In this context, he pointed out the recent passage of a 13th retirement pension payout and regulations enabling the indexation of retirement and disability benefits.
He added that a recent PIT cut from 18 to 17 percent will also leave more money in the pockets of pensioners.
"I wish to declare, from this place, that we want to eliminate earlier shortcomings. We want to make things easier for people in the autumn of their lives," the PM said.
