Waxwork museum divides internet after viral TikTok video dubs it the WORST in Poland! So, what do you think?
A waxwork museum in Kraków has become the centre of controversy after dividing opinion about its look-alike-models.
Operating for 10 years, the Polonia Wax Museum in Krakow receives more than 10,000 visitors every month to take selfies alongside their waxwork equivalents.
Ranging from famous politicians, clergy, athletes, actors, singers and fictional characters, the museum claims the doubles are “carefully made to give the smallest details so visitors can feel that they are really standing next to them”.
Holding an average Google rating of 3.5 out of 5, the city’s quirky museum proudly states that it “wants you to feel their presence as if the character is really standing by you!”
But in a now-viral TikTok video, influencer Becka Blackburn invited her followers to join her in visiting “the worst wax museum in Poland”.
The video which has gathered more than 12 million views and 1.7 million likes, has now divided opinion.
One commentator described the place as “the wax museum from Wish”.
Others said the doubles were “clearly done strictly from memory” and “made different enough to avoid copyright issues.”
Prince Phillip’s representation had users joking on how “he has never looked better”.
Boxer Mike Tyson’s figure, meanwhile, was praised for its accuracy, which had one viewer asking “Why is the Mike Tyson one amazing?”
Another commented: “They really paid Mike Tyson to just stand there and pretend to be a sculpture.”
User @yuh said: “They put their entire budget into Mike Tyson and Prince Phillip and then were like: I mean we have some leftover wax let’s experiment”
A Michael Jackson waxwork was described as he “looks like he’s going through it”, while another replied: “MJ looks more lifelike than actual MJ. Its frighteningly accurate”
Other visitors, however, have praised both the museum and look-a-likes.
One said: “The figures look really great, especially compared to the ones in [Madame Tussauds] New York, which I remember to be very shiny and not at all natural looking, recommended.”
Another, meanwhile, called it: “One of the most interesting and attractive museums” saying is the “it’s one of the best I've seen.”
