Warsaw's Modlin airport serviced over 3 mln passengers in 2018
Warsaw Modlin Airport serviced 3,081,966 mln passengers in 2018, the airport has reported. The figure represents a 5.1 percent growth compared to last year.
According to Modlin Airport the number of passengers serviced in December 2018 stood at 238,207.
The company stressed that in 2018, the airport was equipped with a new air traffic control tower. Furthermore, five new biometric gates will be installed at the airport this year.
The Modlin airport authorities also announced that a new investment by Orlen Aviation, the construction of a fuel depot, will be launched in 2019.
Modlin Airport was built in 2012. Its owners are the Military Property Agency (33.29 percent), Mazowieckie Province (32.66 percent), the Polish Airports State Enterprise (29.39 percent) and the Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki municipality (4.66 percent). Ryanair is the main airline operating over 50 routes from Modlin.
