Volkswagen Group Polska largest supplier of new cars in country
Practically one out of every three newly registered automobiles in Poland during the first half of 2018 belonged to one of the Volkswagen Group Poland (VGP) brands. The largest increase in the number of registrations in this period (26 percent) belongs to Porsche.
The company remains the largest supplier of new autos in the country and has a 29.2 percent share of the market.
VGP told PAP that the number of car registrations of the company's brands increased in the first half of the year by 16.4 percent. Each of the VGP's brands (Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda and Porsche) recorded a two-digit increase in the number of registrations. The highest growth was attributed to Porsche.
The number of vehicle registrations for VGP brands was 79,879 cars. This is about 11,269 more autos than from the same period last year.
According to data provided by VGP, the Skoda Fabia is the best-selling city car, while the Skoda Octavia is the leader in the category of compact cars, and the Volkswagen Passat is the best in the D segment. In turn, the Volkswagen T6 is the top-selling utility vehicle.
