Visegrad Group stronger than ever - PM

The Visegrad Group (V4, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary - PAP) is stronger than ever, PM Mateusz Morawiecki wrote on Facebook after Friday's signing of a cooperation agreement by the V4 finance ministers.

Morawiecki wrote that the V4 format has frequently proved its effectiveness, both in pursuing common interests on the EU platform and in measures against the coronavirus epidemic.

He also thanked the prime ministers of the remaining V4 countries for their support and cooperation in the group's undertakings, observing that "together we can achieve more."

On Friday the finance ministers of the V4 countries adopted a declaration on further economic cooperation. In the document they pledged readiness to pool forces in the face of Europe's and their region's current financial and economic challenges.

On July 1 Poland took over the V4 group's rotating presidency.
