Value of EU-funded Polish investments reaches PLN 400 bln - minister

The value of Polish investments co-funded by the European Union since 2004 has reached PLN 400 bln (EUR 93.9 bln) and their number has exceeded 50,000, Investment and Development Minister Jerzy Kwieciński wrote on Twitter on Friday.
EU funds help Poland catch up with Western Europe in terms of development, including transport, energy, technology, science and environmental protection, the Investment and Development Ministry said.
The funds also support the expansion of social infrastructure, including healthcare, education, culture, sports and tourism, the ministry adds.
After 15 years of EU membership, "we enjoy a very beneficial cash-flow balance between Poland and the EU," the ministry also said.
Between 2004 and March 2019, Poland received EUR 163.7 bln from the EU budget and paid EUR 53.7 bln into the EU coffers.
