The number of new infections among Polish doctors fell to 10 per day from more than 200 in December, thanks to the vaccination process started three months ago, the Health Minister said on Tuesday.

Adam Niedzielski announced the news as Poland wrestled with a third wave of Covid-19 sweeping across the country.

"From the beginning of December, the decline from daily levels of above 200 to 10. Third wave not observed here," Niedzielski wrote on Twitter.

By mid-February almost 90 percent of Poland’s 137,300 doctors were vaccinated.
