US will fulfil its NATO obligations, US vice president tells PM

US Vice President Kamala Harris said the US was ready to meet its Nato obligations, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced on Wednesday morning after a telephone conversation with Harris, on Tuesday, concerning the escalating Russia-Ukraine war.
Morawiecki wrote on Facebook that she also confirmed the US administration's plans to deploy additional US forces to Poland.
"Vice President Kamala Harris assured me that (the US - PAP) is prepared to fulfil its obligations under the North Atlantic Treaty, and will send extra troops to Poland," Morawiecki wrote.
He added that "Russia's barbaric attack has shaken the foundations of the international order we knew. (Russian President - PAP) Vladimir Putin's deliberate escalation of the conflict has also led to a deepening humanitarian crisis."
Morawiecki wrote that he and Harris also discussed aid for Ukraine and further reinforcement on the eastern Nato flank.
