US State Secretary praises Poland for commitment to Three Seas, Belarus
US Department of State spokesperson Morgan Ortagus said on Thursday that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in a phone conversation with Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau had praised Poland for its commitment to the Three Seas Initiative and support for Belarus.
In her statement, Morgan Ortagus said that Michael R. Pompeo congratulated Foreign Minister Rau on his recent appointment and "reemphasized the importance of our strong bilateral relationship with Poland."
The Secretary lauded Poland's strong leadership role in the Three Seas Initiative and its long-term commitment to the freedom and independence of Belarus, reads the statement.
Secretary Pompeo also thanked Foreign Minister Rau for Poland's hosting of the third Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom or Belief, which will be held virtually on November 16-17, Ortagus added.
Referring to the tweet of the spokesperson of the US Department of State, US Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher wrote on Twitter that "I look forward to continuing collaboration with Foreign Minister Rau Zbigniew to strengthen our bi-lateral relationship."
