The Polish foreign affairs minister said on Wednesday that the relationship between Poland and United States would not be affected by the result of the US presidential election.

In an interview with Radio Lodz and TVP3 Lodz, Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau commented on Tuesday's US presidential election between incumbent President Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

Rau said that Poles were very interested in what was taking place in the United States, especially on election night, because the country was Poland's most important partner.

The minister went on to say that during the rule of the United Right coalition and the presidency of Donald trump, it was possible to express the common interests of both countries much more clearly and to turn them into reality.

Rau added that a possible victory by Biden would not have an effect on the current good relations between the two countries.
