The American ambassador to Poland has said Joe Biden will “get along very well with President Andrzej Duda”, adding that she had known him for 35 years.

In an interview for the Wirtualna Polska portal, Georgette Mosbacher also said she intends to resign early next year.

“He is a good and decent man, who has great political experience,” said the ambassador about the president elect. “We know his views well as he did not try to hide them during the campaign, so there will be no surprises.

“He is a kind and friendly person, so I think he will get on very well with President Andrzej Duda,” she continued.

Mosbacher added that as she had been nominated as ambassador by Donald Trump, and was not a career diplomat, it was expected that she would resign from her post before the new head of state was sworn in and that she intended to do so by January 20.
