Ukrainian employees sought-after in Poland

A total of 28 percent of Polish companies have already employed Ukrainians while 25 percent plan to hire them in the coming 12 months, according to a recent survey carried out by a labour market researcher.

"Most of the Ukrainians working in Poland are employed by large companies, 45 percent of which have already had staff coming from our eastern neighbour-country," shows the survey prepared by the Personnel Service researcher.

"Every fourth Polish company plans to hire Ukrainians in the coming twelve months, while it was only every tenth before the coronavirus pandemic," reads a commentary published on Thursday.

According to the Personnel Service CEO, in the H1 2021, Polish businessmen issued over one million documents confirming their willingness to hire Ukrainian employees, up by 63 percent from the corresponding period of 2020, and by 18 percent from the first half of 2019.

Authors of the report wrote that growing interest in Ukrainian employees can be attributed to both labour shortages in Poland and positive experience of Polish businessmen regarding their employment in the past.
