The New Horizons International Film Festival and American Film Festival, both scheduled to take place in the western city of Wrocław on November 5-15 have been moved to an online platform, due to the worsening epidemic situation, organisers told PAP.

The New Horizons International Film Festival, one of Poland's most important annual reviews of independent cinema, is held annually at the turn of July and August. This year, due to the ongoing coronavirus epidemic, it has been combined with another event organised by the New Horizons Association, American Film Festival, with its date delayed till November.

The programme of both events offers online viewing of 170 new films, including 130 full-length. A few "symbolic" screenings will be held in cinema halls, in accordance with the guidelines of the government sanitary service (GIS), organisers said.

New Horizons is Poland's biggest international film festival, organised in Wrocław every year since 2006. Earlier editions were held in other Polish towns. The event has hosted hundreds of film directors from all over the world - from debutants to undisputed film masters.
