Turnout in Poland's presidential election at 24.73 pct by noon

Voter turnout in the second round of Poland's presidential election amounted to 24.73 percent by noon on Sunday, the State Electoral Commission (PKW) said during a press conference at 1:30 pm. Voting began at 7:00 am and is slated to run to 9:00 pm.

The number of Poles eligible to cast a ballot on Sunday amounts to 29,147,064. "By noon, 7,209,052 people or 24.73 percent of those eligible to vote received ballot cards," PKW head Sylwester Marciniak said.

Voter turnout during the first round of the presidential ballot conducted on June 28, 2020, amounted to 24.08 percent by noon.

Voter turnout during the presidential runoff held over five years ago, on May 24, 2015, amounted to 17.40 percent by noon.

The State Electoral Commission (PKW) will hold two more press conferences later on Sunday. Its third conference of the day is planned at 6:30 p.m., and the fourth at 10:00 p.m., after the polling stations close.
