A Polish start-up has been named the most-visited website in Europe for car repairs, with thousands of people clicking on its website each month in search of mechanical salvation.

Based in Poznań, DobryMechanik.pl – which literally means “good mechanic” – helps drivers find experienced professionals for car service and repairs. Users can search for an automobile repair shop by location or choose from a list of common services, from changing tyres to replacing brake pads.

The dobrymechanik website has been racking up around 750,000 visitors a month.dobrymechanik.pl

By inputting details such as their car brand and model, drivers can get a quick and free estimate of how much the service would cost. They can also leave reviews of repair shops they have used, to help others choose where to go. The company provides a 12-month guarantee for service and parts for visits arranged via its website.

While other countries have similar websites, dobrymechanik.pl is the biggest in Europe with around 750,000 visitors each month in the last quarter of last year, according to Similar Web, a website that provides web analytics services for businesses.

This puts it ahead of British website WhoCanFixMyCar.com, which was visited by around 400,000 drivers. The followers-up were London-based ClickMechanic.com and Paris-based Vroomly.com, both of which had around 300,000 visitors.

As well as being convenient, DobryMechanik.pl helps drivers find experienced mechanics whom they can trust with their vehicles.

“The main problem in Poland, but also in other countries, is the lack of trust in car repair garages. Using technology, we connect drivers with proven car repair shops and change the way they make an appointment with a mechanic,” said Filip Goździewicz, a member of the company’s board, quoted by the website Polish Market.

“We can see that we're going in the right direction because we have doubled the number of customers and tripled our revenue over the past year,” he added.

After a successful 2019, the company plans to continue expanding in Poland. It will focus on extending its network of trusted car repair garages around the country and increasing the number of visits arranged online via a convenient booking system.
