Three Kings' processions held nationwide as Poland marks feast of Epiphany
Processions to commemorate the biblical visit of the three Magi to the infant Jesus were held in 644 Polish and 16 foreign towns and cities as the country observed the Feast of the Epiphany on Saturday.
Thousands of people took part in the processions, which were held in Poland for the tenth time this year.
President Andrzej Duda took part in festivities in Skoczow (southern Poland).
Everyone can come and live among us, Poles and Christians, if they respect our tradition, faith and beliefs and if they are not going to violate them, President Duda said at the local ceremony.
The Epiphany procession in Warsaw started with the Angelus prayer said at noon by Warsaw Metropolitan Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz and ended with joint carol singing.
Scenes from biblical events were also staged during festivities around the country.
At a meeting with the faithful at noon in Rome, Pope Francis extended his best wishes to the participants of the Polish processions.
