During the first half of the year almost 5,500 new online stores were registered in Poland, and slightly over 2,000 were deleted, wrote the Rzeczpospolita daily on Wednesday, quoting a Bisnode Polska survey.

According to Rzeczpospolita, the market boom is also evidenced by the growth rate of the value of e-shopping in Poland, in 2020 it is expected to jump by over 30 pct, up to over EUR 15 billion. This is the best result in Europe, according to the forecasts of eCommerce Europe and RetailX.

Current statistics show that 72 pct of Polish internet users purchase goods online.

The report for Rzeczpospolita was produced by the data and analytics company Bisnode Polska based on data from the Central Statistical Office.
