Polish Institute in Sofia opens Cold War exhibition
The Polish Institute in Sofia, Bulgaria, opened on Tuesday a photography exhibition dedicated to the Cold War.
The exhibition, entitled "The Cold War. A Short History of a World Divided," features iconic photographic images of the Cold War, as well as documentary photos, which encourage a deep reflection on the Cold War era.
According to the authors, Sławomir Stępień and Paweł Sasanka, the exhibition is an invitation to a travel to the not so distant past, to a reality of conflict, which for nearly fifty years since the end of the World War II dominated post-war history, influenced the lives of millions, and shaped the face of the modern world.
The authors of the project faced a monumental task in selecting 300 photographs from among several thousand images.
