A Poznań product designer has developed a stylish scooter for whizzing around town which is not only lightweight but recyclable too.

Called the Supersonic, the scooter made from aluminium is the brainchild of designer Mateusz Sipiora who says he designed the scooter as “a daily tool for a person who travels short distances in crowded cities”.

Its form is inspired by organic shapes; specifically, the structure of plant cells. This open metal construction means that it requires less metal to make and weighs less.

It has three wheels – two at the front and one at the back – which means that it can be left standing without a kickstand.

With a length of 76 cm, it can be folded up in just a few seconds and its compact size means that it can easily be carried on the metro or on other means of public transport.

Nevertheless, Sipiora designed it to be wide enough for big or small feet.

The scooter is also recyclable, which means that – once its life as a scooter is over – the metal can be turned into a different product without going to waste.
