Krzysztof Szczerski, Poland's ambassador to the UN, has said at a UN General Assembly (GA) debate that Russia must pay full war damages to Ukraine.

Szczerski made the statement at a General Assembly debate on Monday on a motion to set up a register of damage caused by Russia to Ukraine and a related reparations mechanism.

"Russia must bear consequences of all its transgressions, including through the payment of reparations for the damage done by such blatant and enormous violations of its international commitments," the Polish ambassador said.

"Poland is a strong supporter of establishing an international register of damage caused by Russia's unprovoked and unjustified aggression against Ukraine," Szczerski added.
