Retail sales up by 1.7 pct y/y in May - Eurostat

Polish retail sales grew by 1.7 percent year on year in May 2020 after a 9.9-percent decrease in April. Month on month, retail sales rose by 10.1 percent, Eurostat, the EU's statistics agency, said on Monday.

In the euro zone, retail sales went down by 5.1 percent year on year and grew by 17.8 percent month on month in May.

Eurostat annual growth figures are working-day adjusted, while the monthly growth figures are also seasonally adjusted.

Eurostat data also include small companies which employ fewer than 10 people - in this case, small family shops - but exclude auto sales.
